Mission and Vision
Mission: To provide a joyful, play-based learning experience; to nurture all aspects of each child's development.
Vision: All children and families can flourish and do their best for themselves and their community.
UNOW provides a full-day program. We are open Monday through Friday, from 8 am until 6 pm
Our physical facilities are located in a state-of-the-art new building at 185 Broadmead St (across from the Broadmead Swim Pool) and features 13 open classrooms, large, indoor playrooms, library nooks and a kitchen. Lunch and snacks are provided for all classes, except for formula and baby food for the youngest children.
A large, fenced playground is shaded by trees and shade structures. The playground is divided into 3 separate areas specific to infant, toddlers and preschoolers. Each playground has age relevant climbing structures along with gym equipment, swings, sandboxes, tricycles and an open field for active games. The facilities are maintained by Princeton University.
UNOW was established in 1970 with the aid of Princeton University and the Central New Jersey Chapter of the National Organization for Women (N.O.W.). While UNOW is now an independent non-profit educational institution without formal affiliation with any organization, we retain the acronym to acknowledge our commitment to an equal-opportunity environment for children, free of sex-role stereotypes and from religious and racial prejudice.
